Arlington Man Charged with Stalking, Unlawful Filming

Police: Topless photo of ex-girlfriend was taken without knowledge or consent.

Update - May 13, 2013 - The defendant in this story, Trevor Frye, has been acquitted of the unlawful entry charge; the stalking and breaking and entering charges were dropped, according to court documents.

----------

A 27-year-old Arlington man was arrested after a domestic dispute this weekend in which he allegedly sent a photo to a woman that was taken of her while she was sleeping topless.

Trevor Frye has been charged with burglary, stalking and unlawful filming, according to police.

Frye showed up at an ex-girlfriend's apartment Saturday in the 800 block of North Quincy Street in Ballston, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. He made more than 50 attempts to contact the woman that day by calling her and sending text messages, Sternbeck said.

Frye was also reported yelling "obscene" comments outside of the woman's apartment, Sternbeck said.

During that time, he sent her a photo that was taken of the woman, topless, while she slept, Sternbeck said. The woman didn't know exactly when he would have been inside her apartment to take the picture, Sternbeck said.

The man showed up again shortly after midnight inside the woman's apartment, Sternbeck said. She isn't sure how he got in.

I cannot recall, when I have seen more vichiuosness towards a hapless man, arrested over behavior, in a domestic dating scene. The story is very old and based on all the facts, this young man, lit up and went off over the loss of a mate, with all emotions in play.

For the Arlington/ Ballston scene to pillory this young man, is beyond the pale. I know both parties and feel this is a dust-up. I mean they are not married. For everyone to rush to judgement, in all aspects of this young mans life, is uncalled for.The public comments to Hang Trevor are disgusting and show ignorance. Emotions run high in this style of case, but generally do not involve the police. Without doubt, this case and comments shows the danger of social networking in private lives and the danger of everyones daily life being exposed on the net. I mean really, he did not strike her, spousal or otherwise abuse.

As I weigh in on the social media, with real connections to Facebook, LInkedIn and GooglePlus as I see it this is the danger of little kids with flash IM or emails. You need to chill and give the otherside a chance to weigh in out of fairness... the woman is not always right. What I see here is the danger of social media to destroy a life. As part of the Twitter/Gmail/ Facebook management structure, I am going to intervene, that the anonymous comments do not do more further damage to a man.

Paul Wickre, you seem to have a very low standard for abuse. "I mean really, he did not strike her, spousal or otherwise abuse."

Are you saying he didn't do any of the things in the article? Because if he DID do them, that most certainly is abuse. In fact, it's beyond abuse. It's terrorism.

YoBimbo,
And creating a special case of what is generally meant by "terrorism" merely to dramatize your point is plainly abuse of the English language. Further, your rhetoric is based on a patronizing simplification that denies the pre-existing damage, so often exploited in an abusive relation, which hinders the abused in seeking help.
