Arlington Woman, 20, Charged in Domestic Dispute

Woman allegedly stabbed her husband during a fight, according to police.

A 20-year-old Arlington woman has been arrested following a domestic dispute that ended in a stabbing.

Shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, Aliyma Imaan Williams and her husband engaged in a verbal argument at a residence in the 800 block of South Ivy Street in the Arlington Heights community, according to police.

The argument escalated and the woman stabbed her husband in the arm with a folding knife.

"She didn't cut, she stabbed," Arlington County police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

The man was taken to Virginia Hospital Center for treatment.

Sternbeck said he was not aware of past domestic calls at the address.

The couple does not have any children, he said.

This incident marks the second time a woman was charged as the aggressor in a domestic violence incident in Arlington this week. Police charged a 32-year-old Arlington woman with stabbing her boyfriend on New Year's Day.

Police don't consider that unusual, Sternbeck said.
