Hope to Hold Town Hall Wednesday on School Safety

Event starts at 7 p.m. at Wakefield High School in Arlington.

State Del. Patrick Hope, D-Arlington, will hold a town hall on school safety from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wakefield High School.

The town hall will be in the auditorium of the school, 4901 S. Chesterfield Road.

Earlier this month, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell appointed 45 people to a state Task Force on School and Campus Safety. Hope was among the appointees, along with Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and a long list of state agency heads, lawmakers, police and fire chiefs, and Allen Hill, whose daughter was a victim of the Virginia Tech Shooting.

McDonnell created the task force in late December following the tragic shooting in Newtown, Conn.
