Pretty one-sided "conversation" there. Sure it's not a rant? I don't see anyone on the individual rights or Constitution side...just Nanny Staters demanding more control over people.

Connecticut has had an assault weapons ban since 1993. And the person who purchased the guns used in the shooting passed a background check to buy those guns. So, background checks and an assault weapons ban failed to prevent the Sandy Hook shooting.
Clearly a different kind of solution is needed, instead of more of the same failures.
How about putting a cop in the school? That will solve a lot of other problems, besides making badguys afraid to attack a school.
I will volunteer to pay a little more in taxes in order to prevent more school shootings. It's a solution that would actually make children in schools safer. It would save lives where other "solutions" fail.
