Ballston is about to get Naked.

Naked Pizza will open its fifth Washington-area location at 933 N. Quincy St. next month. The all-natural pizza chain also has a location at Pentagon Row.

Marketing Manager Caroline LeFevre called the new Ballston location "really special" because it will include indoor seating. The franchise currently primarily offers carryout and delivery service.

"We definitely wanted a space where people could come have lunch, hang out, have dinner with their family," LeFevre said. "That's something our customers have been asking for at our other locations. So, Ballston is going to be a nice test for us."

The restaurant will open in early October, though an exact date has not been set.

Naked Pizza uses what it calls its "Ancestral Blend" of 10 different grains for its crust. Food is prepared without adding extra sugar, butter, preservatives or chemicals, LeFevre said.

"Everybody always asks about the name: 'What is the name about?' The simple answer is that 'naked' means 'natural.' We're trying to offer everyone a healthier option to America's favorite fast food," she said.

The local franchise may eventually open a sixth location in the district.

Generally, when scouting new locations, Naked Pizza looks for "areas where people are interested in a healthy, active lifestyle. Because our pizza is meant to compliment a healthy, active lifestyle. It's not meant to be a diet pizza, but it does compliments that lifestyle," LeFevre said.

The new Ballston location will seat approximately 30 people, and the restaurant has plans to add patio seating.

Naked Pizza will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
