Police: Man Sexually Assaults Woman, Vomits on Self

Man remained in custody Monday.

A 34-year-old Arlington man sexually assaulted a woman Saturday night while heavily intoxicated, according to information police released today.

At 8:48 p.m. Saturday, Lelis Reyes entered the lobby of an office building in the 3100 block of Wilson Boulevard, according to police. That's in the immediate vicinity of the Clarendon Metro Station.

Reyes had been drinking at a bar/restaurant that was attached to the office building's lobby, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. Sternbeck would not identify the specific building.

Reyes saw a woman sitting on a bench in the lobby, talking on her cell phone. After "stumbling" in, he sat next to her, slid up close, and began fondling her back and buttocks, Sternbeck said.

The woman was upset. She jumped up, took a picture of Reyes and took an elevator to an upper floor to distance herself from the man, Sternbeck said. She then called police, who arrived shortly.

When police arrived, Reyes began vomiting in the lobby and on himself and, soon afterward, in the police car and in front of the Arlington County Magistrate's Office in the Courthouse community, Sternbeck said.

"You can see the vomit on his shirt in the booking photo," Sternbeck said.

Reyes was charged with sexual battery, drunk in public and failure to identify himself to law enforcement, according to police.

He remained in jail Monday, according to the Arlington County Sheriff's Office.
