Tonight in Fairlington: QR Codes in the Garden

Registration is free.

Gardeners can learn how to mark their plant labels in a high-tech way via QR, or quick response, codes tonight in Fairlington.

The Arlington County Office of the Virginia Cooperative Extension, with the support of Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia, is hosting a free workshop. The workshop will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairlington Community Center, 3308 S. Stafford St.

The labels are cost effective and work in home gardens, community gardens, parks, schoolyards and other public spaces, according to an announcement from the group. The QR codes allow people to scan them with their smartphones and pull up a host of associated information about the plant.
