Walk-In Clinic Now Open in Pentagon City CVS
'MinuteClinic' provides treatment for most minor injuries and illnesses.
A new walk-in clinic for minor illnesses and common treatments has opened in the CVS Pharmacy at Pentagon Centre, 1201 S. Hayes St.
MinuteClinic, a division of CVS, opened its new Pentagon City location last week, marking the second such clinic in Arlington. The other, at 3133 Lee Highway, is one of 22 located in Washington metro area.
The clinic is a small kiosk next to the pharmacy in the Pentagon City store. Two chairs, a touch-screen sign-in station and a large electronic display are outside the unassuming door that leads to a small examination room.
MinuteClinic nurse practitioners and physician assistants are able to diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common illnesses such as strep throat and ear, eye, sinus, bladder and bronchial infections, according to a news release. Minor cuts and abrasions and joint sprains are also treated. The clinics provide several vaccinations, including those for influenza, tetanus and pneumonia.
Physicals for camp, sports and college are available daily, the release states.
Most health insurance is accepted. For people paying cash, prices are posted on the screen outside of the clinic and at www.minuteclinic.com. The cost for most treatment starts at $79, the release states.
The Arlington clinics are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sundays.
