6/1 Updates from 6/7th period

First day of IB Environmental Systems class constructing a stream in front of Washington-Lee High School.

At Washington-Lee High School, the IB Environmental Systems class is taking part in constructing a stream in the front of our school. The purpose of this is to conserve water from the overhang at our school and limit run off that our school produces. Instead, rainwater will be managed in the rock stream that is seen at the front of our school! There are only a few weeks of school left, and we're excited to say that we've accomplished a TON and have the support of many sponsorers. Read more in our blog posts!

 

Sent off the T-Shirt design to La Tee Shirt on Lee Highway in Arlington - they are working on giving us a quote.

We made a mix up with one of the plants that we picked: the "New Guinea Impatiens" isn't native to VA, and it's not a perennial. Casha picked " " to replace it.

Monica, Abby, Karen, Susan contacted quarries to have rock and gravel delivered to WL, and asked about potential discounts/donations.
