Become an Arlington Energy Master

The award-winning Arlington Energy Masters program is now accepting applications for volunteers.

Join us in making a difference in our community by helping affordable housing residents save energy. Modeled after the successful Master Gardener's program, the Energy Masters program provides hands-on training in energy efficiency and weatherization techniques. Service is conducted by volunteers working in teams to make energy and water saving improvements in low-income apartments.

The program also includes a special apprenticeship opportunity for high school and college students.

Training will take place in September and October 2013, including four Thursday evening sessions and one Saturday. In addition to attending the training sessions, volunteers must contribute 60 hours during a year of community service, at which point they will be certified with master status for energy efficiency education.

Details and applications for both tracks are available online at: http://www.arlingtonenvironment.org/energy/volunteers/

The application deadline is July 31st. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space available basis.

Arlington Energy Masters is sponsored by Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment, Arlington Thrive, and Virginia Cooperative Extension.
