Want to become a volunteer in the new year? Mentor with Space of His Own!

Space of His Own is a mentoring program for fifth-grade boys in the City of Alexandria. Throughout the school year, mentors and mentees meet each week at the Alexandria Seaport Foundation to enjoy dinner and work on a carpentry project. Boys learn lifelong lessons and skills as they build chests and bookshelves, carve nameplates, and learn how to wire a lamp with the guiding hand of a mentor. Space of His Own will be holding its first orientation of the new year on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Alexandria Seaport Foundation. To find out more and register, please e-mail recruitment@spaceofhisown.org or call (703)-746-4501.
