Cat Trapped in Wall at National Airport and More Animal Control Reports

The following are the latest animal control reports from the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. For more information, visit www.awla.org.

Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2500 block of Military Road: Received a call about a stray dog confined to caller's back yard. An animal control officer responded and was able to return the dog home based upon the current information on the dog’s ID tag.

Thursday, Oct. 17, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport: Received a call from a woman regarding a cat trapped in a wall in the food service area at National Airport. An animal control officer went with airport; police and fire and retrieved the cat from the wall. The cat is at the shelter and is being held for the stray period. If no one claims that cat it will be evaluated to go on view for adoption when the stray period ends.

According to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington website: Animal Control officers are charged with the enforcement of all state and local laws regarding the welfare, care and control of animals.
