Under the cloud of "personnel matters," Fairfax County Public Schools officials have been trying to get rid of seven felons on the payroll. The school system learned in 2012 that at least one employee was hired regardless of a felony conviction that would have made him or her ineligible under state law.

A new Washington Post article has led to the revelation that six other employees were also hired with felony convictions. The school system has responded with a statement after the report. Read this and other stories in our daily digest.
