2013 Arlington County Fair: Homeward Trails Animal Rescue

Volunteers with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue will have several dogs at the Arlington County Fair on Sunday afternoon.

The group will be situated near the intersection of 2nd Street South and South Irving Street, tucked away from some of the busier entertainment.

Adoptions aren't done on the spot. Rather, if you are interested in adopting, you can start the process, Eric Yang, a Homeward Trails volunteer, told Patch on Saturday.

That process involves a home visit.

Many of the animals Homeward Trails gets for adoption come from high-kill shelters in the South, he said. A small number have been abused. So volunteers want to make sure the dog is going to a good environment and owner.
