The meeting is set for Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Fairlington Community Center, 3308 S. Stafford St., where county staff will hear residents' opinions about a potential farmers market at the FCC.
Here's what the county hopes to explore at the meeting:
"Is Fairlington the right spot for a farmer’s market? Arlington County has received a request to have a farmers’ market established at Fairlington Community Center. We are seeking community input to be sure a market is the right fit for the location. Come to our community meetings to share your comments, concerns, and learn more about the request and the process for establishing markets on Park property."
A second meeting is set for May 13 to discuss major themes and will run from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Fairlington Community Center. For more information call 703-228-7872.
The meeting is independent of the work done by the Fairlington Citizens Association and Field to Table/Fairlington Farmers Market Planning Committee.
Residents can also register opinions about the proposed market between Monday and May 5 on Open Arlington; to complete the county's survey and/or share your comments, go to: (http://www.peakdemocracy.com/p/105)
