UPDATED: Arlington County, Schools Decision and Other Weather Closures and Delays

County and school officials make their decisions.

Arlington County Schools will be closed Monday due to inclement weather but county offices will remain open.

All public schools in Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties will be closed Monday.

Arlington County announced some facilities would be closed Sunday night due to the weather but, at the time, the forecast was for only rain by Monday morning. As of 9 p.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service forecasts rain or freezing rain for Arlington until 2 p.m. Monday.

From Arlington Public Schools:

"All Arlington Public Schools will be closed today. Offices will be open and a liberal leave policy is in effect. Essential personnel are to report to work. Extracurricular activities, interscholastic contests, team practices, field trips, adult and community education classes, and recreation programs in schools and on school grounds are canceled."
