Arlington Mill: Ribbon-Cutting Saturday, CaBi Station Installed

Weekend event will allow residents to sign up for classes.

The new Arlington Mill Community Center will get its official welcome-to-the-neighborhood party this weekend.

The $36 million community center, at the corner of Columbia Pike and Dinwiddie Street, is 64,000 square feet and includes a fitness room, full-size gym, outdoor plaza and several multipurpose rooms.

A Capital Bikeshare station has been installed at the site and is ready to use, according to the community center's most recent newsletter.

County officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature a preview of some of the center's programs, class registration, live music, face painting and more.

Light refreshments will include samples from Pan American Cafe, a locally owned business that will set up its second Arlington location in the community center.
