Arlington Traffic: No, an Arrow was NOT Killed on a Crystal City Road

One ways are the wrong way: Crystal City converts more roads for two-way traffic.

The chalk outline in the picture with this story is not a candidate for our Weird News feature: No arrows were harmed in the making of the photo.

Rather, the arrow represents a long-anticipated -- and for many, very welcome -- end to the demonic one-way routing of traffic near Long Bridge Park in Crystal City.

The arrow was scheduled to be filled late Sunday or Monday, so that another section of Crystal Drive can open to two-way traffic.

Striping between 12th and 15th streets was completed over the weekend, and crews were out Sunday preparing for lines to be painted on South Clark Street, where it meets 12th Street so it, too, can be converted to two-way traffic.

In an email that went to residents in the area, county officials said the work should be complete sometime Monday afternoon.
