DC Chili Cookoff: 'A Little Bit of This, A LIttle Bit of That'

Amy Smith with Mother Tucker's Chili Tells Us Her Secret Ingredient.

For the first time, Clarendon Day hosted the DC Chili Cookoff this weekend.

Teams of professional competitors and amateurs, small businesses or just groups of friends, lined Highland Street just south of the Clarendon Metro mixing up batches of chili for the event.

Samples were handed out for donations to charity or in hopes of positive word of mouth — the team with the most donations at the end of the day was named the People's Choice winner.
