A winter storm watch is in effect for Arlington County and all of the greater Washington area beginning Tuesday morning and extending into the evening, according to National Weather Service reports.
Arlington could see new snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches, according to the weather service. Snowfall is expected primarily after 11 a.m., with the temperature falling to about 19 degrees by 2 p.m.
Tuesday night, the low is forecast to be around 6 degrees, with wind chill values as low as -10, according to the National Weather Service.
Blowing snow could reduce visibility, making driving conditions challenging for motorists.
