Thousands Descend on Clarendon for Annual Street Festival

Clarendon Day 2013 was Saturday.

Arlington's original downtown was bumping and bustling Saturday for Clarendon Day 2013.

Thousands of people descended on Clarendon for food, music, vendors and the DC Chili Cookoff. The crowd was noticeably larger than last year, for which attendance was estimated to be around 8,000.

Music on three stages ranged from punk to big band to go-go to noir thanks to an eclectic mix of Northern Virginia and DC-area musicians.

The always popular belly dancers from Saffron Dance drew big crowds for their exhibitions. Kids climbed, dogs led their people around and if you had one too many samples of chili, you could hop on a stationary bike courtesy of Revolve.
