A group that helps wounded warriors is looking for volunteers this holiday season to wrap gifts for customers at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.
“It’s been very helpful in helping us run the programs throughout the year,” said Michelle Humphries, founder and director of Arms Outstretched Ministry, a Stafford-based nonprofit.
The group’s annual gift wrapping event, now in its fourth year, helps fund programs for those in the military and their families. The cost for giftwrapping services ranges anywhere from $4 to $10, and guests will often leave additional donations to help the group, Humphries said.
The organizations’ wounded warrior program provides catered meals and recreational opportunities for troops. The group also runs an adopt-a-soldier program that delivers care packages to troops serving overseas.
Volunteers are needed Dec. 7 through Dec. 27 for various shifts. Assistance is most needed for the shifts right before Christmas. Email Humphries at email@example.com for more information on volunteering or sign up for a shift online.
