Weekend Road Closures for North Arlington

Races in the area of Nottingham Elementary and Yorktown High schools will affect traffic this weekend.

Two events this weekend will cause road closures in North Arlington.

The Nottingham Elementary School PTA 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday morning will start and end at the school and take participants through surrounding neighborhoods.

The following streets will be closed from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday:

  • Eastbound Williamsburg Boulevard, from Little Falls Road to North Harrison Street
  • Little Falls Road, from Williamsburg Boulevard to North Harrison Street
  • North Ohio Street, from North 26th Street to Williamsburg Boulevard

All roads should be reopened by 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, police will close several roads to accommodate a 5K and 10K race around Yorktown High School.

The following streets will be closed from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday:

  • Westbound Yorktown Boulevard between North 30th and North 26th streets.
  • Eastbound Yorktown Boulevard between North 30th and North Edison streets.
  • North 28th Street, from Yorktown Boulevard to North Greenbrier Street

All roads should be reopened by 11 a.m. Sunday.

For both events, other temporary road closures will be necessary as runners move through the respective courses, according to the Arlington County Police Department. Affected residents will be escorted through the closed roads.

Police are asking residents in the affected areas to park in their driveways to reduce congestion.
