What are the Most Iconic Images in the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor?

Help us decorate.

Patch soon will be launching an initiative that allows local editors to customize the background of our sites to better reflect the communities we cover.

So, we'd like to open the floor for suggestions: What iconic images do you think best represent the urban villages of Rosslyn, Courthouse, Clarendon, Virginia Square and Ballston?

Now, the general format of the site won't change, so not every image will work for our background. But a cityscape of Rosslyn is probably more representative of this Patch than the default grass image that we currently use.

(I like the grass. There's just not much of it in our area!)

That said, feel free to contribute ideas early and often. Perhaps we can collect several images and rotate them throughout the year. Maybe we'll pick the first suggestion and stay with it indefinitely.

But, as has been said, this is your Patch. And we value you your opinion, even on little things like our window dressing.

Fort Myer and Arlington National Cemetery are cornerstones of the area... From the days when trolleys rolled out of Rosslyn (first as a horsecar) up the hill to where the Old Post Chapel would be built and the Wright Brothers would bring aviation to the world as they flew on Fort Myer's drill field in response to the US Army's request for a heavier-than-air flying machine.
