YOUR PHOTOS: Arlington Blanketed in Snow Thursday

Arlington is blanketed in snow Thursday morning after a snowstorm that started Wednesday night that brought up to 9.5 inches of snow to the county, according to snow totals posted Thursday morning by the National Weather Service. (It varied across the county, with Ballston getting 9.5 and Reagan National getting 6 inches of snow.)

The forecast for Thursday in Arlington is for snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 3pm, then rain and sleet between 3pm and 4pm, then snow after 4pm. High near 34. North wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

The Thursday night forecast is for snow, mainly before 2 am. Low around 27. West wind 13 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 3 p.m. Thursday for Arlington.

Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 1 a.m. Friday for Arlington.

Friday is expected to be sunny with a high of 39 degrees.
