Bonefish Grill Coming to Pentagon Row

Announcements follow recently completed renovation and expansion of outdoor ice rink.

Bonefish Grill has signed a lease to bring a new restaurant to Pentagon Row, with plans to open the summer of 2014, Federal Realty Investment Trust, which owns the shopping and entertainment center, announced Thursday.

The 5,350-square-foot restaurant will be located to the right of Sur La Table on South Joyce Street.

The announcement comes on the heels of a recently completed renovation that added 1,500 square feet of new retail and dining space and expanded the center's outdoor ice rink.

“We are very excited to unveil the completed renovations and new amenities at Pentagon Row," Robin McBride, the trust's vice president for the mid-Atlantic region, said in a statement. “With a much larger ice rink, new outdoor fireplace, tranquil water features and renovated outdoor café seating, we’ve been able to revitalize the plaza and bring new energy to the surrounding shops, restaurants and apartments. Pentagon Row offers a unique and enjoyable experience to those living in and visiting Arlington.”

Bonefish Grill was founded in St. Petersburg, Fla., in 2000 and has grown into a national chain. The restaurant has 13 locations in Virginia already, including in nearby Alexandria.

"As the 'Fresh Fish Experts,' Bonefish Grill specializes in market-fresh fish and other wood-grilled specialties," according to the restaurant's website.

Federal Realty Investment Trust bills the new 6,840-square-foot ice rink as the largest in Northern Virginia and second-largest statewide.

The recently completed renovation also added a new skate shake, an outdoor double-sided stone fireplace and a new water feature.

The ice rink opened for the winter on Friday.

Pentagon Row will celebrate the new amenities at the rink's grand reopening event on Dec. 7.
