Microsoft Store in Pentagon City to Host Midnight Celebration of Surface 2 Tablets

One customer will win a trip to Orlando to see rapper PitBull.

Ten Microsoft stores across the country, including the one at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, will host special midnight events next week to celebrate the launch of the new Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro tablets.

The party starts at 10 p.m. Monday.

Aside from the DJ and special giveaways, residents can check out the new devices early and go head-to-head in the Surface Challenge for a chance at prizes — including a trip for two to Orlando to see rapper PitBull perform on Tuesday night.

The Surface challenge includes a music and entertainment trivia game; multi-tasking and balancing test where contestants can stand on only one leg; and an art and memory skill test.

Microsoft bills the Surface 2 as "the most productive tablet on the planet."

The Surface 2 starts off at $449.The Surface 2 Pro, designed to have 60 percent more battery life than its predecessor, starts at $899.
