Redskins' Pierre Garcon Bringing New Pizza Restaurant to Rosslyn

SpinFire is expected to open in fall 2014.

We're guessing that the Washington Redskins' Pierre Garcon really likes pizza. He's a spokesman for Paisano's pizza and is now involved in a new pizza venture coming soon to Rosslyn.

Monday Properties announced Wednesday that it has signed a long-term retail lease with SpinFire, a new, custom pizza concept restaurant at 1501 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington.

SpinFire offers made-to-order individual pizzas and salads topped with a choice of gourmet ingredients. The pizzas are freshly-baked in 90 seconds in a unique revolving surface oven. SpinFire also serves homemade salads, gelato, as well as a robust beer and wine selection.

SpinFire was founded by Garcon, as well as experienced restaurant entrepreneur Fouad Qreitem and private equity executive Norm Chirite.

“We are very excited to build our second SpinFire location in Rosslyn with its compelling resident demographics, strong daytime office population, and a true 24/7 live, work and play environment,” Garcon says. The other SpitFire location is in Loudoun County.

Rosslyn's SpinFire is expected to open in fall 2014.

At 1501 Wilson Blvd., SpinFire will occupy approximately 2,300 square feet of ground floor retail space at the base of the 126,000-square-foot office tower, an address shared by the highly popular Heavy Seas Ale House, and just two doors down from Roti Mediterranean Grill

Monday Properties recently completed a $2.5 million capital improvement project to renovate the lobbies, increase the retail frontage and update the façade at 1501 and 1515 Wilson Boulevard.

“This is a wonderful addition for everyone who works or lives in Arlington County," said Tim Helmig, president and chief operating officer of Monday Properties. "This transaction is hard evidence of the retail surge taking place in Rosslyn, a community with thousands of residents within walking distance.”

Matt Alexander of Cushman & Wakefield represented SpinFire in the lease transaction.  Monday Properties was represented by David Dochter and Hugo Gilbert of Cushman & Wakefield.

SpinFire joins several other recent restaurant openings in Rosslyn, including Caffe Aficionado, an upscale coffee bar in the Waterview Conference Center;  Fro.Zen.Yo, a self-service yogurt shop at International Place; Panera Bread in the Rosslyn Metro Mall; and Tom Yum District, next door at Monday Properties’ 1515 Wilson Blvd.
