Yorktown Graduate Opens New Frozen Yogurt Shop in Williamsburg

Zinga Frozen Yogurt is the latest addition to Arlington's dessert businesses.

A new frozen yogurt shop opened this weekend in the Williamsburg Shopping Center.

Zinga Frozen Yogurt, at 2914 N. Sycamore St., is self-serve and is sold by the ounce. The store will feature 12 flavors daily — including low-fat and fat-free — and more than 50 toppings.

The new store is owned by Zinga franchisees Bill and Kasi Hansen, according to a news release.

“It’s special for me and Kasi to open a store in our old stomping grounds,” Bill Hansen, an Arlington resident and Yorktown High School graduate, said in a statement.

The new store will be involved with local charities and civic organizations, high school groups and local sports programs, Hansen said.

Mango Tango, Pink Lemonade and Watermelon are among the dairy-free sorbets offered. A sugar-free flavor will be available each day, the release states.

Zinga Frozen Yogurt will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Zinga was established in early 2011. The group has 285 stores currently in development in 12 states, the news release states. Twenty more are projected to open soon.
