Restaurant Week January 17-23

Destination DC and the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington present to you an excellent excuse to get out of your cozy and comfy Arlington abode (and hibernation mode) this winter to celebrate Restaurant Week, January 17-23.

Restaurant Week offers a new and somewhat easier spin on date-night, girls-night or just any ol' night out. It gives you the opportunity to try out new restaurants, and ones you may not normally go to (perhaps because they're a little too pricey for your pocket.)

Restaurant Week makes this possible and offers you two convenient options:

A three-course fixed-price meal:

Over the summer, my boyfriend and I went to Oyamel in the Penn Quarter in Washington D.C. for Restaurant Week. It was a super fancy Mexican experience, where we shared an exquisite meal of freshly made guacamole (that they made right at the table and wasn’t part of the prix-fix menu) and a dinner of Tapas-sized and delicately delicious proportions. I also ordered a pomegranate martini that had a foam on top made of salty bubbles, which I also thought was super cool and fun. It was exciting to try a restaurant we normally wouldn’t have tried (it’s a little too expensive for us post-grads), and thoroughly enjoyed stepping out of our box.

Visit the official Restaurant Week website for a list of all of the restaurants participating in the D.C. Metropolitan area.
