'No Justice, No Cabs!': Taxi Drivers Protest Arlington Working Conditions

Drivers call their taxis "sweat shops on wheels."

About 70 taxi drivers, representing seven different companies, marched around Clarendon around lunchtime Tuesday to protest working conditions.

They shouted, "We want justice!" and, "No justice, no cabs!" They demanded the Arlington County Board hold a hearing to investigate working conditions.

After marching from Clarendon Central Park, through the Whole Foods parking lot and back, the cabs drivers began driving the route with signs on their vehicles. Several equated taxis to "sweatshops on wheels."

They were expected to drive until 1:15 p.m.

Arlington Patch will have more on this story later today.
