Traffic Alert from Arlington County

A 5K race will cause road closures in Arlington Saturday morning.

Arlington Alert issued this release about Arlington road closures Saturday morning:

"The Arlington County Police Department will be working a 5K in the area of Nottingham Elementary school on March 19, 2011.  Several roads will be closed from approximately 7:30-9:30 am.

The affected streets are listed below:

•  Williamsburg Blvd. will be closed to eastbound traffic from Little Falls Rd. to N. Harrison St. from 7:30-9:30 am.
•  Little Falls Rd. will be closed from Williamsburg Blvd. to N. Harrison St. from 7:30-9:30 am.
•  N. Ohio will be closed from N. 26th St. to Williamsburg Blvd. from 7:30-9:30 am.

Along the race course temporary road closures will be necessary as the race moves throughout the neighborhood.  Residents of the affected areas will be escorted through the traffic closures to minimize the impact on the community.  All road closures will be reopened by 9:30 am.

Residents are asked to park vehicles in driveways to reduce the congestion on the affected streets to allow more runners through the neighborhood as quickly as possible which will result in a return to normal conditions.

If there are any questions or concerns regarding the impact to the community, please contact Lieutenant Dave Reiten at (703)228-4259."
