Tree Falls into Apartment Complex Friday Evening

An 85-foot tree fell into an Arlington apartment complex, displacing seven families, WTOP is reporting.

Twenty people in the Greenbrier Apartments in Arlington off of Columbia Pike were receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

Storms that rolled through the area dumping heavy rain and strong winds left more than 37,000 people without power Friday evening across Northern Virginia—much of the damage was in Arlington, Alexandria and Springfield. By the morning, fewer than 1,000 people in Arlington remained without power.
