Democrats Line Up for 48th District Delegate Vacancy

There is no shortage of Democrats lining up for the job left vacant by Del. Bob Brink, who recently resigned as delegate to Arlington and McLean's 48th District to take a job with the McAuliffe administration.

Democrats will hold an "unassembled caucus" on Sunday to pick a candidate; the special election is set for Aug. 19.

Here are the Democratic candidates running for the seat; each link will get you to the candidate's Facebook page.

Locations and Times

  • Fairfax voters – Sunday 12 noon to 6 p.m. at McLean High School cafeteria (1633 Davidson Rd, McLean, Westmoreland Street entrance).

Call to Caucus / Rules

Virginia voters registered in the 48th House of Delegates District prior to June 30, will be allowed to vote. The caucus will be unassembled, meaning a “firehouse primary” style of voting (show up, vote, leave). Voting will be conducted using preference voting (ranked order balloting) as in prior Arlington Democratic caucuses this year.
