Sen. Mark Warner to Kick Off Reelection Campaign Today in Arlington

Incumbent Sen. Mark Warner will kick off his reelection campaign today with a rally in Arlington.

The event takes place from 5:30-7 p.m. at Artisphere Spectrum Theatre, 1611 N. Kent St. in Arlington. Fellow Democrat, Sen. Tim Kaine, will also be on hand.

The stop in Arlington is part of Warner's "Working Together" tour, which includes 14 stops across Virginia over six days.

Last Friday, Warner’s re-election campaign announced eight Virginians from across the Commonwealth who will serve as campaign co-chairs:

  • Kim Adkins, Mayor of Martinsville
  • Judith Anderson, Former Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth, Warner Administration
  • Aneesh Chopra, Former Chief Technology Officer of the United States and Virginia Secretary of Technology, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Hutch Analytics
  • Carlos Del Toro, President and CEO at SBG Technology Solutions 
  • Linda DiYorioDistrict Director, Former Congressman Rick Boucher
  • Justin Fairfax, General Counsel & Vice President of Development at Thompson Hospitality 
  • Jeff Mitchell, Attorney and Former Chairman of the Virginia Community College System Board
  • Alan Diamonstein, Attorney and Former Senior Member of the Virginia House of Delegates
Warner launched his first TV ad earlier this week (watch the video here).

Warner is being challenged by Republicans Ed Gillespie, Shak Hill and Chuck Moss. Republicans are holding a convention June 7 in Roanoke.
