Senate Race: Warner, Gillespie Set for First Debate This Weekend

Two will square off at Virginia bar meeting in West Virginia.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Warner and Republican nominee Ed Gillespie will meet in their first debate in the campaign at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.

The debate will be hosted by the Virginia Bar Association and moderated by Judy Woodruff, host of PBS' NewsHour. Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis was not invited to the debate. The Virginia Bar last hosted then-gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe and GOP nominee Ken Cuccinelli in a debate last year at The Greenbrier.

The debate Saturday will consist of opening and closing statements, candidate-to-candidate questions and moderator questions. Although the debate will not be televised, you can follow along on Twitter with the hashtag #vbadebate.
