"Blueberry ink is delicious." Exploring the union of art and agriculture, DC-based artist Anthony Dihle will lead a hands-on workshop teaching screen-printing with natural materials. Driven by experimentation, participants will make inks from food items like burnt toast and blueberries. Participants will then use these inks to complete a screen-print designed by Dihle for this one-time workshop. This class highlights the use of alternative media for art making and participants will learn how readily-available organic material can be used outside the kitchen. Along with recipes and techniques for natural ink-making, participants will also learn the basics of screen-printing.
