Scouting for Food - Annual Boy Scout Food Drive

On Saturday November 3rd, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will distribute Scouting For Food bags and fliers to the neighborhoods. The scouts will return to those neighborhoods on the morning of Saturday, November 10, 2012 to collect food donations for the Arlington Food Assistance Center.

If you want to contribute, please place your donations on your doorstep or porch by 9am on Saturday, November 10th.  You can place the donations in a Scouting for Food bag or any type of bag or box (if you aren’t placing in a Scouting for Food bag, please put a note on it saying it’s a donation to Scouting For Food).  Scouts will come through your neighborhood starting at 9AM on November 10th.

Needed items: Low-sugar cereal, canned meat or fish, canned fruits (low-syrup), canned soups (low-sodium), cooking oil (plastic, no glass), flour (2lb bags), sugar (2lb bags), and pasta sauce (canned or plastic, no glass).

Scouts cover most but not all Arlington neighborhoods. If you do not get a Scouting for Food bag on November 3rd, that means that scouts will NOT be coming to your neighborhood on November 10th.  However, Scouts will also staff collection points at the following Safeway’s on the morning of November 12th, where you can make a donation between 9am and 1pm: Cherrydale (3713 Lee Hwy) and Lee-Harrison (2500 N. Harrison St).
