SLATE DOUBLEX PODCAST LIVE TAPING AT GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY

Arlington,

Virginia, September 18, 2013:
 

Center for the Study of Gender and Conflict (CGC)

will host a live taping of the Slate DoubleX

Podcast on September 18, 2013 at 7:00-8:30 p.m. at George Mason University’s

Founders Hall Auditorium.

The ticketed event is open to the public and features

Slate DoubleX founding editor HannaRosin, Slate senior editor Dan Kois,

and Noreen Malone of The New Republic

for an evening of lively conversation, intellectual argument and wit about feminism, gender,sexuality, politics, and gendered violence.

An intimate cocktail reception with Slate contributors will take place at 5:00


p.m. at Northside Social in Arlington. A limited number of tickets are

available for both the live podcast and/or reception, and can be purchased on

CGC’s website, scar.gmu.edu/gender, under the “Events

tab.

current affairs and culture magazine created in 1996, featuring regular and

semi-regular columns and podcasts on various issues. In 2011, Slate was nominated for four digital National Magazine Awards (NMA) and won the NMA for General Excellence. CGC is partnering with Slate for their inaugural podcast at GMU

as part of its mission to provide a critical space for reflection on the implications

of gender on conflict to develop theories that inform policies and practice..
