Students Travel to China in July Session!

The Astar Education
Institute is an independent non-profit organization designated by the State
Department as an Exchange Visitor Program. Our mission is to build
relationships necessary to meet the challenges of our globalizing world. For
this purpose, we conduct short-term educational and cultural exchanges. This
July, we are traveling to China with local middle and  high school students on a cultural and linguistic
based trip.

We are currently
accepting middle and high school students interested in our mission to travel
to China for 18 days in July, 2014. Students must have an interest in Chinese
culture and language, and must be eager to learn and have an open mind. This
exciting opportunity allows students to immerse themselves within local
traditions and cultures. Students will stay half the time with a host family so
they can further embrace the culture and language.

During the trip,
students will

program. Also, students are responsible for visa costs, which currently are
$130. Astar will provide all domestic travel and accommodations free of charge,
including admission and event tickets. Astar also has a secured group rate for
round-trip airfare that students may choose to use when purchasing airfare tickets.

The goal of this visit
is cultural and linguistic immersion. It is a unique opportunity for high
school students to spend 18 days learning about the culture and language of
this ancient country while gaining invaluable experiences and friendships. We
will have an information session on Thursday, January 23rd at 5:30pm. Please
come with any questions, concerns, or to pick up an application!
