This
month Gallery Underground features a juried show of works displaying the
tremendous possibilities of colored pencils from the Metropolitan
Washington chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America.  These fascinating and accomplished works will
give you a whole new appreciation for the talent of the artists and the
versatility of colored pencils.

Trudi
Van Dyke, the show’s juror, is an independent curator and fine arts consultant
who specializes in exhibitions of fiber and fine craft. She curates arts
exhibitions nationally and internationally.

The
Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) is a national, non-profit organization
founded in 1990 exclusively dedicated to artists working with colored pencil.
The Metropolitan Washington chapter of CPSA was formed in 1994 by colored
pencil artists living and working in the DC area to promote the goals of CPSA
on a local and regional basis. Various works featuring colored pencil and
colored pencil with mixed media, in a marvelous range of subject matter, will
be on display.
