10 Floors of Basement

A friend recently used these words to describe her office. She first heard the phrase on an NPR broadcast, and unfortunately, it resonated with her. As you might imagine, it was used to refer to the darkness (literally and figuratively) of the typical D.C. office — with gray cubicles, beige walls, and little to no natural light — not to mention, the inevitable slide toward apathy that often occurs. At one point in our careers, many of us have experienced “10 floors of basement,” and honestly, who wants to work in that environment?

When I founded ECU, I set out to create the polar opposite. I fostered a collaborative atmosphere, where everyone’s ideas are valued. And I empowered employees to excel in their fields of expertise. To step through ECU’s doors is to enter a world of possibility. The vibe is energetic. The air is full of promise. People are on the move. Concepts are hatched, campaigns developed. And yes, gallons of coffee are drunk daily — after all, we’re still an office. But at ECU, we call our space “10 floors of penthouse,” and the view is spectacular!

ECU is looking for candidates with experience in front-end and back-end development; desktop publishing; multicultural outreach; commercial, public, or federal health marketing; and environmental, Hispanic mass media, or health care program management. Email your resume to info@ecucomm.com.
