Thankful

“A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all other virtues.” So said the Roman philosopher, Cicero. As we reach December and I reflect on the year, I’m reminded of this truth and of the importance of being grateful.

I don’t mean putting on rose-colored glasses and ignoring hard realities. I’m talking about, in the midst of adversity, focusing on what I can be thankful for — choosing to view life through the lens of an appreciative heart.

This mindset affects not only my personal life but my business. Am I going to let challenges (admittedly, they are often “first world problems”) get me, and everyone around me, down? Or am I going to take the lead in inserting some perspective, remembering there are many who would LOVE to have my problems?

So as 2013 comes to an end, I’m taking time to count my blessings and renewing my commitment to notice and appreciate each day’s gifts. How about you?

Hasta la próxima,
Jackie
