Screening of "Six Degrees That Could Change the World”

Produced by National Geographic Video and narrated by Alec Baldwin, this 2008 film examines the effects of the changes in the temperature of the Earth, one degree at a time, as humans confront a warming planet. This program takes a hard look at the effects of recent climate-related catastrophes. 

Not recommended for young children.

Doors Open: 7:15p.m. Show time: 7:30–9 p.m.

Admission is free, but donations of $5/seat would be gratefully accepted!

Premiere of the full dome digital program: “DYNAMIC EARTH”

This program was made possible through a generous donation from Ric and Jean
Edelman.

DYNAMIC EARTH explores the inner workings of Earth's climate system. Audiences will ride along on swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and gigantic whales, and fly into roiling volcanoes. DYNAMIC EARTH explores the relationship between Earth and the Sun, the carbon cycle, plate tectonics, and presents a broader

Doors Open: 7:15p.m. Show Begins: 7:30p.m.

Admission is $3 for children, friends members and seniors, and $5 for adults. A few remarks will be made prior to the screening about the premiere of this full dome show and how supporter donations have made it possible.

1) Sunday Science Lecture: Cary Secrest, "Trashing the Troposphere"

Mr. Secrest will discuss the industrial sources of air pollution, the impacts on public health, and various national programs for dealing with these problems.

Doors Open: 1:15 p.m. Talk Begins: 1:30 p.m.

Admission is $3 for Children, Friends Members, and Seniors and $5 for adults.

2) Screening of the “DYNAMIC EARTH”

Online ticketing will end two hours prior to each show, and any unreserved seats will be made available on a first come, first served basis 15 minutes prior to the doors opening.
