Arlington Crime Report: Attempted Bank Robbery, Woman Fights Off Rapist

Arrests made of two Arlington men in separate incidents.

An Arlington man was arrested Tuesday and charged with trying to rob the M&T Bank on the 4700 block of N. Lee Highway.

Police say William Ushkurnish, 56, walked into the bank at 2:01 p.m. on Tuesday and demanded a teller provide him money. He was charged with robbery and held without bond.

On Friday, March 28, an Arlington man was arrested for the attempted rape of a 54-year-old woman.

Arrested was Hector Lopez Aguilar, 33. Police say he forced his way into an apartment on the 4200 block of N. Pershing Drive, assaulted the woman and attempted to rape her.

She fought back and he fled, police said.

Aguilar was arrested the next day at a nearby apartment. He was charged with attempted rape and abduction with the intent to defile. He is being held without bond.
