Arlington Police: Man Attempted to Abduct Female Jogger in Fairlington

Suspect is described as a white male in his 40s with brown hair and a goatee driving a white four-door sedan.

The Arlington County Police Department’s Special Victim’s Unit is investigating an attempted abduction that occurred on Sunday, at approximately 6 a.m. in the 3400 block of S. Utah Street in Fairlington, according to a news release from Arlington Police. 

The area is adjacent to the Fairlington Community Center. It is also close to Quaker Lane and Interstate 395.

A 30 year-old Arlington woman reported that as she was jogging, a white four-door sedan pulled to the side of the road and asked her for directions. The suspect grabbed hold of the victim and forcefully pulled her into his vehicle. The victim was able to fight off the attacker and run to her residence.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s with a medium build, brown hair and a goatee. He was possibly wearing a white t-shirt at the time of the incident. The suspect fled the scene in the southbound direction of Utah Street.
