Crime Roundup: Man on Bike Cuts Teen, Drunken Shenanigans and More

Crimes reported by the Arlington County Police Department on Sept. 19 through Sept. 25.

The following information was provided by the Arlington County Police Department. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Some entries have been edited to conform to Patch's ethical standards. Links added by Patch.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 09/20/13, 300 block of N. Glebe Road. At 6:45 pm on September 19, a juvenile male was cut down his back with a sharp object while walking down the sidewalk by a subject on a bicycle. The victim refused medical treatment. The suspect was wearing black skinny jeans, a dark color hoodie, and black Converse shoes at the time of the incident. 

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 09/21/13, 3700 block of S. Columbia Pike.  At 8:22 pm on September 21, a victim was struck in the head with a pool cue after an argument escalated. The victim was transported to Virginia Hospital Center and treated for a large laceration to his head. The suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 09/18/13, 1900 block of Fort Myer Drive. Between 7:30 pm on September 17 and 8:15 am on September 18, a victim reported multiple computers missing from a business. No suspects have been identified at this time.

BURGLARY, 09/18/13, 3400 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 12:10 pm on September 18, it was reported that someone had broken into a locked trailer on a construction site overnight and stole approximately $4500 in tools and copper wire. The site had been left unsecured overnight due to an accident that occurred on the site a day prior. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY, 09/23/13, 3100 block of N. Arlington Boulevard. Between 9:00 am on August 10to 10:45 am on September 23, a subject(s) entered a residence and stole various items. There is no suspect(s) description.

BURGLARY WITH INTENT TO DEFILE09/23/13, 1400 block of N. Taft Street. At 4:05 am on September 21, an unknown subject entered a female victim’s residence while she slept. The victim woke up to the suspect rubbing her arm. The suspect fled the scene and was wearing a red polo shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

EXPOSURE, 09/24/13, 4500 block of S. 28th Road. Between 12:35 am to 12:40 am on September 24, an unknown male suspect exposed himself to a female victim through her bedroom window. There is no suspect description.  

FELONY DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY09/22/13, 1900 block of S. Walter Reed Drive.  At4:05 am, an intoxicated subject drove his vehicle into the corner of Fire Station #9. Yancy Carrera, 35, of Falls Church, VA, was arrested and charged with DUI and felony destruction of property. He was held with no bond.

ARSON09/23/13, 6900 block of Williamsburg Boulevard.  At 2:41 am on September 23, an intoxicated male lit a realtor sign on fire and waved it around in the median.  Neil Blaney, 29, of Falls Church, VA, was arrested and charged with arson and drunk in public. He was held on $1500 bond.
