Pedestrian Struck on Washington Blvd.

A person was struck on Washington Blvd. Monday evening.

Updated 3:30 p.m.: Arlington County Police District 1 Captain, Frantz Desamour said, "there were no serious injuries  it was a homeless female who was struck and was at fault."

Updated 10:45 a.m.: Arlington County Police Spokeswoman Detective Crystal Nosal said that the incident, "Was not listed on the watch commander's report of serious activities." Nosal explained that because the accident was not listed on the report of serious activities, it likely indicates that the injuries were not serious or life-threatening.

According to witness reports, a pedestrian was struck around 7:45 p.m. on Washington Blvd. at N. Vernon St. just before N. Glebe Road. When Ballston Patch arrived on the scene there were three police cars and an ambulance attending to the victim. We are still waiting for the official report from the Arlington County Police Department.

Ballston resident Katie Manley arrived on the scene before any medical help and called 911. "The person was just laying on the street and you could see a lot of blood, but at one point it looked like they tried to get up," Manley said. 

Manley said she couldn't tell which car had hit the person, but a couple of cars remained on the scene.
