Police: Bicycle Thefts, Cell Phone Robbery Reported

Several bicycles were stolen from a parking garage just days before National Bike to Work Day, according to Arlington County Police.

Five bicycles were stolen Tuesday night or Wednesday morning from parking garages in Rosslyn on the 1800 block of N. Quinn Street and the 1800 block of N. Scott Street, according to police.

The thefts occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, police reported, and there is no description of a suspect available.

Friday was National Bike to Work Day, and DC was just named the 6tth most bike-able large city by Walkscore.

In a separate and unrelated incident, a person was grabbed while walking down the sidewalk Wednesday afternoon and had his cell phone stolen out of his pants pocket, police reported.

The two suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot. The two suspects in the incident were both described as black men in their early 20s in the online police report. One was approximately 5’11 and about 200 pounds and was wearing a black skull cap, white shirt and dark cargo pants, according to a police report. The other suspect is described as 5’9, 250 lbs. And he was wearing a dark red shirt and dark pants. The incident occurred on the 800 block of Greenbrier Street, according to police.
