Arlington police say a drunk driver sped the wrong way down Wilson Boulevard on Sunday night and hit multiple cars and a pedestrian, sending that man to the hospital.
Police began receiving numerous calls shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday about a vehicle traveling at a "high rate of speed" in the wrong direction in the 3100 block of North Wilson Boulevard in Clarendon.
Within minutes, the 2010 Mercedes Benz hit four parked cars and a 33-year-old Washington man. The victim, whom police would not identify, was taken to George Washington University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Mercedes sustained a "significant" amount of damage during the incident and came to rest, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck told Patch.
Benjamin Andruss, 36, of Arlington, was charged with DUI and DUI refusal, according to police.
Other charges may be pending, Sternbeck said.
Sternbeck did not know how fast the man had been traveling. Wilson Boulevard is one-way through Clarendon.
